Welcome to Stockton MO!

Stockton Mo Stockton Campground Stockton Lake

Stockton, Missouri is located in the SW corner of the state and is home to Stockton Lake. The population of the town is approximately 2,000 and growing. Stockton is the county seat of Cedar County and home to the Cedar County Courthouse.

The Lake is our biggest attraction with opportunity for many water sports; sailing, skiing, fishing, camping and swimming.  There are horseback riding trails and hiking trails in designated area around the lake as well.

Stockton has a very active Chamber of Commerce that hosts many events throughout the year; the biggest being our "Black Walnut Festival" which is a four day event from Wednesday through Saturday of the last week in September, the Blues Festival, Chili Cook Off, Gun and Knife show plus many others.

The Stockton R-1 school system is AAA rated and is now in the process of building a new high school complex.  There is a local FFA and 4-H Fair in June that is coordinated by the Ag Instructors and 4-H leaders and volunteers and held at the new Expo Center on RB Road.

Our library is looking towards a new building which will be state of the art and is compliments of generous donations and hard working dedicated community organizations.

The downtown area along with many homes and other businesses was destroyed in May 2003 by a rare tornado.  Today our town is rebuilt and is thriving once again.  The town still wears some scars, but the spirit and determination of the people is what makes Stockton a great place to call "Home".
